Scheldeoord is located in "the South Beveland Pocket", a beautiful and quiet area, which rightly has the status of National Landscape. It is a unique polder landscape full of beautiful nature, orchards, small friendly villages and numerous dikes, both paved and unpaved.
Walking and cycling will take you to the most beautiful spots of this varied landscape!
Get out!
So get on your bike or put on your walking shoes and go out!
For example, cycle straight through the beautiful and green hedgerow landscape around Nisse in the heart of 'de Zak' or take a look at 'de Zwaakse Weel'. Once a busy tidal creek, this is now the largest nature reserve in Zuid-Beveland, where you can take lovely walks through meadows and over unpaved dikes!
Knooppunten
For your walking and/or cycling tour, you can choose from one of the already plotted routes or put together your own route using the nodes of the Fietsknooppunten Systeem Zeeland (FiKS) and/or the Wandelnetwerk.
Buitendijks
Did you know that you can also walk and cycle beautifully outside the dikes?
You then walk or cycle 'on the other side' of the sea dyke, right along the water where you then have a beautiful view of the Westerschelde and the large sea ships that sail past!
Definitely recommended!
Also fun:
Almost every village in the area has a tea garden. Ideal for a well-deserved break in between!
Rent a bike
Didn't bring your own bikes? You can rent them at the reception!
