You can walk and cycle beautifully along the dike directly along the water!
Enjoy the beautiful, wide view over the Westerschelde during your trip.This path runs outside the dike at least as far as the little port of Hoedekenskerke.

If you want to go in the "other direction", you can walk and cycle outside the dike again from Ellewoutsdijk all the way to Borsele!

Get muddy!

The Schelde beach is a constructed beach made of sand. When the tide is low, a layer of mud appears on the beach near the waterline, which makes children very happy!

Generally not allowed at home, here they can enjoy themselves to the fullest, make meters-long belly-shovels, create mud puddles and complete mudslides, splash around and lie sprawled in the mud.

Lovely to get dirty from head to toe! A quick dip in the water or under the outdoor shower at the beach and you'll be clean in no time!

Scheldeoord is located right on the dike of the Westerschelde!
From the campsite it is only a short walk and you are already on the dike with the Scheldt beach behind it, a small and convenient but nice family beach!

Only when you are on the dike itself, you see all the beauty that lies behind it! Enjoy the space around you and the beautiful view over the water.
It is quiet, but at the same time there is a lot to do here on the dike, the beach and on and along the Westerschelde.

The Schelde beach is one big playground for children: building sandcastles, playing in the water, getting dirty in the mud..... they have a great time here.

You can also fly kites here! On the dike or on the beach, you have all the space you need and there's always some wind.

And did you know that if you look carefully you can even find shark's teeth here in the sand?
Look under the stones on the waterfront. Lift them up a little and you'll see dozens of crabs running around! Do you dare to catch them? Be quick, because they'll be gone in no time!

The animation team can also be found here at the dike with fun activities such as the mud run, baking baguettes or playing games.

On a windy day, you can already see them sticking out above the dike: the colorful kites of kitesurfers showing off their skills on the Westerschelde!

Fun for the experienced kiters, but also definitely fun to watch from a distance!

Do you like to fish?

Then grab your fishing gear, find a nice spot on the dike or the beach along the Westerschelde and cast your rod! You don't need a permit (maximum 2 rods), so it's the perfect place to enjoy a casual day of fishing on the water.
